Applicants are required to sit tests in English and Mathematics. Each test lasts for one hour and each is marked out of 100.
- The Mathematics test consists of around 30 questions of generally increasing difficulty.
- The English test has two equally weighted sections. One section assesses reading and the other assesses writing.
1. Section One tests reading by multiple choice questions, based on fiction or non-fiction passages plus some questions on basic grammar.
2. Section Two tests creative writing skills.
Marks are awarded in the creative writing section as shown below:
the right style and type of writing with sensible, interesting content
accurate and interesting sentences using clearly defined paragraphs
neat and appropriate layout and handwriting
