15 October - Swimming success

Congratulations to Srikar Namireddy in Year 12. Since the start of the calendar year he has set a total of 8 new school records at senior level. Several of these were broken over the past two weeks during the Surrey Winter Championships in which he won 7 golds and a silver whilst competing in the 17+ (adult) age group, making this achievement all the more impressive - this should hold him in good stead for the British Championships next year.

Meanwhile, our Year 7 swimming squad also put in an excellent performance at Farrington’s School on Monday afternoon. There was lots of opportunity to engage in the different strokes and there was a great atmosphere for the swimmers. Sonny Landeman won 3 of the strokes with Ahmed Rashed the other giving us a clean sweep, as well as St. Olave’s winning the freestyle relay. This bodes well for the future as we seek to continue the excellent swimming tradition we have at St. Olave’s.
