18 Aug -A-Level and GCSE Results 2017

In a record year at St Olave’s Grammar School, students achieved a stunning 96% A*/B grades. 
A total of 75% of all grades were at A*/A, 3 percentage points up on last year’s. 32 students gained straight A* grades in at least 3 subjects. 
Top performer was Bilal Chughtai who gained 4A*s and 2 ‘S/Outstanding’ grades in the fiendishly difficult Cambridge STEP II and II entrance exams. Richard Decker also gained 4A*s and will take up his choral scholarship at St John’s College, Cambridge. Other top performers, also with 4A*s, included Jonathan Clarke, Nathan Douglas, Lucas Golding Yee, Salman Hussain, Jacob Loveridge, Richard Moulange, Jennifer Nandi, Anik Roy, Fawaz Shah and Raafay Younus.
Headmaster, Mr Aydın Önaç, said: “I am delighted with these results. The outcomes reflect not only the amazing talent of our students but also the hard work which they and the staff have put in over the last two years.”
Of the 39 students offered places at Oxford or Cambridge 26 definitely have the grades to take up their places, with a further 4 still being considered:

Almost all of the 35 students offered places to read for Medicine will be taking up their places.

Meanwhile, GCSE students celebrated a fantastic set of results with 90% of grades at A*/A or the new levels 9/8/7 in Mathematics and English. 67% of all GCSEs were at A* grade.
