Le Chavetois Commnity Service

The school’s ‘Le Chavetois Community Service’ has raised money and carried out voluntary work in the local community since the First World War. It was founded in memory of a former teacher, Grantley Le Chavetois, who found ways to help the local community until his death in WW1.

It is co-ordinated by the School's Chaplain, Rev’d. Dr. Julie Bowen, and involves community work during Year 12 in anything from hospitals and care homes to charity shops, youth work and schools. Students are invited to participate in this scheme as one of their Sixth Form Options.

Students need a sense of vocation, a regular weekly commitment and a willingness to serve others. This option offers students a community and vocational aptitude for their university applications.
