This weekend the second half of Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh Award students were out on their expedition. They coped well with some challenging weather conditions - including a weather warning for rain, which saw an absolute deluge hit the campsite. Luckily they had walked speedily so most could take cover in their tents. It was a great test of their campcraft skills as all tents withstood the downpour.

They walked from Sevenoaks back to school over the North Downs. Their instructors were pleased with their progress in learning how to navigate successfully and several instructors commented on what polite students they were and what a pleasure it was to work with them - a real credit to the school!

On reflection the students had tips to pass on - read the kit list carefully (waterproofs really do mean waterproof!), don't shout at cows and a questionable tip about using air pod cases as foot massagers(!).

Many thanks to Mr Carroll, Mr Szczyrba, Mr Jewson,  Mr Twose and Dr Sidhu for making this trip possible and enjoyable.
