Artist of the Week

Each week we are proud to celebrate and share some examples of our Olavians' artwork as they explore, practice and respond to a wide variety of styles, techniques and ideas, supported by the Art and Design Department. Well done to all our artists for their fantastic work.

Year 7 students have created an impressive collection of Constructivist-inspired lino prints, exploring bold shapes, striking contrasts and dynamic designs. Their final prints demonstrate excellent creativity, technical skill and a strong understanding of this influential art movement.

Year 9 artists have been exploring different methods of photography, previously looking at photomontage in the style of Dada.

This week the students have been introduced to the technique of cyanotype and exploring how to create their own natural photographic prints. They used a variety of objects, drawings and paper shapes to create these designs.
