What is an Olavian?
We are so proud of all our Olavians, the following link reveals many of their personal and learner characteristics
Thank you to Olavians Alex Cockshott who provided the initial inspiration for the artwork to help display the characteristics and to Stanley Fisher who refined those ideas and used them to create the images along with the definitions for these.
As a Church of England school each of our Olavian Characteristics are underpinned by the Bible:
Determined 2 Chronicles 15:7 (NIV)
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.
Respectful Hebrews 13:18 (NIV)
Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honourably in every way.
Unafraid of Failure Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Responsible Galatians 6:7 (NRSV)
Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow.
Honest Proverbs 10:9 (GW)
Whoever lives honestly will live securely, but whoever lives dishonestly will be found out.
Resilient 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NIV)
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
Curious Acts 17:20 (NIV)
You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears, and we would like to know what they mean.
Confident 2 Corinthians 3:4-5 (NIV)
Such is the confidence that we have through Christ towards God. Not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us; our competence is from God.
Independent 1 Peter 2:16 (NIV)
Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil.
Imaginative Colossians 3:2 (ESV)
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
