SENDCO

The SENDCO co-ordinates and manages the Special Needs and Disability work throughout the school ensuring that the Code of Practice June 2014 is implemented and followed.

The work includes keeping up-to-date lists of pupils with Special Needs, reporting to the Examinations secretary about pupils who need Special Examination requirements, assessment, identification and evaluation of student’s needs and implementation of SEN policy.

The SENDCO supports independent learning, the development of pupils’ social skills and attends and contributes to regular review meetings with parents and guardians and external professionals and liaises with Heads of Year. The SENDCO manages Teaching Assistant support and advises staff in their support of student’s learning needs and challenges.
