Imperial College Science in Medicine School Team’s prize.
We are delighted to report our amazing Year 13 student team of Chendoor, Akshmi, Nieve, Ivanya, Jaydon and Ankur are enjoying well deserved success in this year’s Imperial College Science in Medicine School Team’s prize.
The Team were awarded 2nd place in the Mental Health Prize winning £2000 for the Science Department, and were the only state school placed in the top 4.
They were amongst 39 entries for this prize from across the whole of the UK the Olavian team gave an impressive presentation in the final via Teams this afternoon to a large panel of judges including academics from Imperial and representatives from NHS Mental Health services and other organisations involved with mental health.
Their brief was to develop a science and technology-based idea to support children and young people to build resilience and manage their mental wellbeing. Their design, a plant inspired wellbeing App named ‘Rooted’ for use by secondary age students is illustrated below:
