De Gaulle Part 2: at the Cinéma Lumière
6 Oct 2026
The 6th Formers studying French went back without hesitation to South Kensington to watch Part 2 of the adaptation of the novel “A Certain Idea of France: The Life of Charles de Gaulle” by British historian Julian Jackson. Each part was over 2 hours’ long but at no stage was there a moment of boredom: very fast paced, we were transported to several different frontlines across the globe, leading to the liberation of Paris and France having kept its status as a recognised country internationally.
De Gaulle, we all understood, was certainly unique in every way.
