On Wednesday 15th October St. Olave's hosted it's first netball match of the season, welcoming The Judd School onto our courts. Nerves were palpable as the girls stuck their position patches onto their netball dresses.

Judd players were mainly Year 13 and Olave's players were mainly Year 12. Judd were in the lead by the end of the first quarter, 9-8. St Olave's players reorganised their wings and took the lead by the end of the second quarter, thanks to excellent shooting accuracy and link-up play of Fergie Dusk and Sofia Dallmann.

Judd retook the lead towards the end, but narrowly. Most of the fourth quarter pointed to a draw as the final score, but Olave's netballers displayed outstanding resilience, stamina and ambition, leading to a 27-26 victory at the the final whistle. Many thanks go to Sue Ellis for umpiring. Judd nominated

St. Olave's player of the match as Year 13 netball captain goalkeeper/goal defence Emma Towuaghantse for clinical intercepts and frustrating the opposition's play in the final third.
