Year 7 Drone Coding Workshop: A High-Flying Success

During this Activity Week One, Year 7 students had the exciting opportunity to take part in the Drone Coding workshop, blending the thrill of flight with the power of technology.

Today's workshop offered a fun and engaging way for students to develop essential coding and problem-solving skills.

Students were introduced to the fundamentals of coding through hands-on drone operation. Using Swift programming – the same language used to create iPhone and iPad apps – students learned to design flight patterns for their drones. They created algorithms that enabled the drones to take off, land, perform rolls, and navigate various altitudes and distances, all while completing exciting challenges.

The interactive nature of the workshop allowed students to apply their coding knowledge in a practical and enjoyable setting, enhancing their understanding of technology while experiencing the thrill of controlling their drones.
