This weeks artists of the week are:

Year 7 Exploring Russian Constructivism

This week, our Year 7 students have been diving into the bold world of Russian Constructivism, drawing inspiration from the architectural forms of Tallinn’s Tower and the dynamic compositions of Aleksandr Rodchenko. They have brought their learning to life by creating striking cardboard sculptures in the Constructivist style. These works will soon serve as the foundation for their own
lino print designs, as they begin exploring the art of printmaking. Exciting work ahead!

Year 8 Remi and Sulaymon

Class 8B have been concluding their mixed media portraits in the style of Bisa Butler. Sulaymon and Remi designed their own repeat patterns and used Procreate to produce vivid, tonal portraits.

Both have shown a strong understanding of colour and pattern, as well as how Butler uses these elements to convey the identity of her subjects.
