The History Society marks Holocaust Memorial Day: 2026
23 Jan 2026
During the month of January, The History Society has been marking Holocaust Memorial with their second annual lecture series.
It began with an overview of the Holocaust, told through the story of a Jewish prisoner who was forced to be Dr Mengele’s assistant.
Year 12 then took the lead and shared stories of individuals, with Noah W sharing a video interview with a relative who survived Auschwitz-Birkenau which was a truly thought-provoking session.
On Friday 30th January, Mr Wearn delivered an assembly on how we can preserve the memory of survivors by sharing their stories.
The assembly focused on Zigi Shipper, who passed away in 2023, but had been a shining light for the Holocaust Education Trust during his lifetime.
