Chess Success

Our congratulations to Aaravamudhan Balaji who has been extremely  successful in various chess tournaments held during October 2021.
 
On 8th and 9th October Aaravamudhan won the 2021 UK Chess Challenge U18 Tera Final, held at Blenheim Palace, which was one of the strongest junior chess tournaments of 2021. He clinched this title by winning the last-round opponent who was ahead by 1/2 point in a must-win match.  Aaravamudhan then went on to finish 5th in the European Open U16 hybrid chess tournament, just a 1/2 point behind the winner and ahead of many other titled players. The tournament was held online under local FIDE Arbitor supervision between 15th to 21st October 2021 at Basingstoke. It was another strong event with 64 top players from many European countries.
