Year 8 Cricket – Thomas Cup (Kent Final) vs Simon Langton Grammar School

Our Year 8s put in a great shift in their Kent Cup Final (Thomas Cup) 30‑over match against Simon Langton Grammar School, played at the neutral ground at Upchurch Cricket Club.

Simon Langton batted first and set a solid total of 231 /4 off 30 overs, and it turned into a competitive game from both sides. We went out to chase it with intent, and the boys gave absolutely everything; Abdullah Chaudhary top-scored for us with 58. In the end we could not get over the line, but the effort, attitude and teamwork were spot on throughout and we managed 134/6 in our overs.

Congratulations to Simon Langton, and well done to our boys – reaching a county final is a great achievement in itself.
