Netball update - November 2025
On Wednesday 12th November St. Olave's netball team made their way to Newstead Woods, a much desired fixture in the calendar. The weather was unseasonably balmy, and at times the shooters' vision was obscured by the sun.
Newstead had requested that they film the fixture for A Level PE qualification purposes, and the presence of a huge permanently installed camera by the centre circle was a little unnerving at the beginning. Newstead's Year 13 are currently in their mock examination period, so their side featured players from the sixth form all the way down to a Year 9 player.
St Olave's dominated from the start, with Shivali Prashar once again playing out of position at Centre. Despite Newstead scoring most of their goals in the last quarter the final score, 20-10 to Olave's, indicated a comfortable victory. Many thanks go to Sue Ellis and Danielle Roots for umpiring.
Newstead Woods nominated St. Olave's player of the match as Year 12 Goal Defence Caitlin Sellar, who's link up play with Year 13 Goal Keeper Emma Towuaghantse was critical in frustrating the Newstead shooters in their final third.
