National Youth Orchestra - Sunday 4 January 2026
6 Jan 2026
On Sunday 4th January 2026, The National Youth Orchestra began it's Shimmer tour, performing their first of three concerts at Barbican Hall.
The programme included works from Impressionist pioneers, Debussy and Ravel, as well as more contemporary works by Anna Clyne and Karim Al-Zand. Becca Wells took the role of principal viola and Thomas Blew as a string leader.
It was wonderful to see current staff and students in the audience for such phenomenal technical and expressive interpretations of these compositions. Thomas and Becca repeated the programme in Warwick Arts Centre on Monday 5th January and Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham on Tuesday 6th January.
Huge congratulations go to both students!
