Year 7 students are continuing to explore the formal elements of Art and Design, recently looking at colour and form. These drawings were inspired by Joel Penkman's works based on sweet treats along with a consideration of complementary colours, tone and texture.

This week, our Year 7 students have been exploring abstraction inspired by the work of Paul Klee. As part of their homework, students researched a scene from a place they have visited that held personal emotional meaning. Using this image as a starting point, they moved away from realistic representation and abstracted their scenes into shapes, forms, colours and lines. Through this process, students focused on expressing emotions, ideas and experiences rather than depicting the physical world exactly, creating thoughtful and highly individual artworks.
