STEM Racing - London North Regional
Five Year 9 teams travelled to Harlow College North London to compete in the most competitive regional final on the Stem Racing circuit.
The teams had been encouraged to compete in the Development Class competition to stretch themselves and learn from other teams from across the region and professional class.
It was a hugely successful day, with the students collaborating well with other schools and teams. It was a very close competition, when being judged out of a total score of 990 , and with just 7 points spanning 5 positions.
All 5 teams did extremely well, with St. Olave's locking out the podium for the fastest cars with a 1-2-3. Lunar winning the fastest car award as their car was also completely legal and met all the regulations in scrutineering. (Lunar: Avi M, Mingyuan M, Reyansh G, Leonardo A, Taran R).
Phantom were awarded an overall 3rd place position, which is a great achievement against teams who have competed for a couple of years already. They go into the wildcard draw and may yet get a place at the National Finals. (Phantom: Aksel L, Nivaan D, Sai M, Kanishk G, Vihaan S, Thanish S).
Well done to Photonic, Riptide and Quantum for their efforts on the day. Photonic were nominated for their verbal presentation.
