Spring term concert 2026
On the evening of Wednesday 25th February the Music Department hosted the Spring Term Concert in the Great Hall. The concert featured truly enjoyable and inspiring performances from a wide range of year groups playing a variety of genres. Concert Band began the evening's entertainment with some "Disney Favourites", including music from Beauty and The Beast, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin.

Two vocal items were presented, with Chapel Choir singing a beautiful arrangement of a Billy Joel classic and two Year 9 students Sharvan and Karthikeya doing the honours with a very recent release from Benson Boone. Improvisation Ensemble put a jazzy spin on their version of the traditional "Down By The Riverside" tune, the Viola Quartet, made up of Year 12 students Becca, Priya and Florence as well as Year 13 student Thomas, stunned the audience with their Faure "Pavane" arrangement and Guitar Ensemble rounded off the concert with some fantastic Latin American music from Machado's "Dancas Populaire".
Solo items were also featured, including Year 9 student Siddarth's meandering "Idylle" flute performance, Year 7 student Hugo's aptly named "Spring Sonata" on the violin and Year 12 student Ademiyo's emotionally charged Rachmaninov "Prelude in B Minor" on the piano. Our sincere thanks, as ever, go to all our talented performers (students from the entire range of year groups from Year 7 to Year 13 were represented at this event), our dedicated ensemble coaches Mr Blew, Mr Bullard and Mr Robinson and the audience for their continued support at school music events.
