Over the half‑term break, forty students travelled to the Jay Peak ski resort in Vermont, USA. The mountain has experienced record snowfall this season, creating exceptional skiing conditions that generated great excitement among the group.

Students enjoyed five glorious days on the slopes in perfect weather, supported by excellent instruction. They made outstanding progress throughout the week and were able to experience the wide variety of terrain that Jay Peak offers, including runs of differing difficulty, tree glades and moguls.

Evening activities were equally engaging. Students visited the Pump House water park twice, taking advantage of its flumes, lazy river and FlowRider. They also attended a local league ice hockey match and spent an evening at the Reels Clip ’n Climb centre, which included an arcade and mini golf.

During the journey home, there was an opportunity to explore the city of Boston, with time spent at Quincy Market, the harbour area, and even the chance to watch urban snowboarding at the Red Bull Heavy Metal event, where top street snowboarders performed tricks on custom rails and urban‑style features.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable trip, and everyone returned home safely before the snowstorm arrived. A sincere thank you is extended to all staff who accompanied and supported the visit.
