Higher Education Evening 2026
On Thursday 26th February, we held our annual Higher Education Evening. This evening marks the start of Year 12 thinking about their plans for when the leave school.
We were joined, as usual, by Kathryn Pagett from the University of Birmingham who spoke about choosing universities and courses, as well as broader life at university. She also spoke about student finance and the changes which are happening at the moment with the Lifelong Learning Entitlement.
Former student, Sai, then spoke about his experiences as an apprentice accountant with Grant Thornton. There was then a presentation on how the UCAS process runs at St. Olave's, which included Senior Prefect, Eashan, sharing his insights on preparing for and writing a personal statement, which is a key part of the application process.
Thanks to all who presented at the evening, and particularly Ms Aksoy for organising the event.
