Samsung Competition and Prototyping Workshop - 2026
A few weeks ago 13 teams from years 7 to 10 entered the Samsung 'Solve for Tomorrow' competition where students were asked to design a 'tech-for-good idea' to solve a real problem. Teams submitted ideas to solve a wide range of problems from preventing people falling during sports to reducing food waste.
We were excited to hear that ETAS, a Year 10 team consisting of Arush, Elliot, Seb and Tyler were shortlisted and through to the next round. As part of their prize they receive two mentoring sessions with a designer from Samsung, helping them to develop their idea further, a prototyping workshop for themselves and 26 other students and a set of Samsung earphones each. The team have already started to develop their idea and are working hard on their entry for the next round.
On Monday 30 of the students who entered the competition attended the Prototyping workshop which was run in school by Tech She Can. During the workshop students worked in groups to create a physical prototype of a product that solved an everyday problem. The students used their creativity to come up with some interesting and varied ideas which they modelled and then presented to their peers with maturity and enthusiasm. The students were praised for their excellent behaviour as well as their ideas and prototyping skills.
Well done to all of the students who entered the competition and attended the workshop, and good luck to ETAS in the next round.
