Fives Nationals - March 2026

It has been an amazing season for the St.Olave’s Fives team, with large numbers representing the school at all ages across both terms. 

The weekly training, lunchtime court use, school and adult league matches, alumni club mornings and tournaments around the country prepared everyone well for the eagerly awaited National Championships. Held this year largely at Repton School in Derbyshire, this was one of our most successful campaigns. St. Olave’s managed to get a pair ( or two!).. into every Final from u13’s upwards! 
 
The U13’s was won by Dhruv and Maxim from year 8, defeating Berkhamsted in the Final. 

U14’s: Aksell &  Kenso from year 9  reached the semi Finals, but Michael and Ivan went a step further, making the Final, where they lost to Berkhamsted. 

U15’s: saw Leo and Anish from year 10, exceed their seedings by a couple of rounds, to narrowly lose in three very close sets to the favourites, Eton College. 

U16’s : this event was dominated by Yifan & Ayaan and Luke & Krivi from year 11. The top two National seeds for this age group reached the Final without dropping a set between them. The showcase Final that followed could have gone either way; but Luke and Krivi came through in three very close and exciting sets. 
      
Open: Our star U 16 finalists from year 11 joined Oscar and Henry from year 12, to produce three seeds within the top 8 for the Open category. All three pairs reached the quarterfinals, with Krivi and Luke causing the big upset of the event; defeating the second seeds from Shrewsbury in three straight sets. 

Oscar and Henry defeated Krivi & Luke in the Semi Finals, to set up the same Final from the U16’s the previous year, vs Ipswich school.  It was a fantastic and close Final, but was eventually won by Ipswich. 
    
Finally, the Fives Team would like to send a big thank you to all of the Academic staff who have supported us and helped us with logistics when we have been away representing the school. We all look forward very much to next season.
