On Friday 20 March, we officially opened our new state-of-the-art cricket practice nets and unveiled an honours board recognising those who made this facility possible.

The ribbon-cutting was conducted by Saurabh Virmani (Secretary, Parents’ Association), Andrew Rees (Headteacher), Ray Michael (Chairman, Old Olavian Cricket Club), and Min Patel (Head of Talent Pathway, Kent County Cricket Club).

Our cricket captains, Dhruv (Year 8), Sid (Year 9) and Aarav (Year 10), then demonstrated their skills in the four-lane, fully enclosed ECB-standard nets. We now look forward to students across the school benefiting from this outstanding new resource as the cricket season begins, strengthening St. Olave’s position as a centre of cricketing excellence.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this project, including the Parents’ Association, Old Olavians Society, Old Olavians Cricket Club, parents, carers, students, staff, and Total-play Ltd, who developed the nets.
