Artist of the Week - 27 March 2026

Oliver, Year 8

This is the third Olavian submission to the Royal Academy Youth Art Summer Show to feature as Artist of the Week. Oliver worked in acrylic to produce this portrait of his local priest. Oliver has looked closely at the textures in the ceremonial robes and created a strong contrast with the gold trim and communion bowl. Oliver created this work as a tribute to an important figure in the community.

Year 7L students James, Orlando, Raaghav and Tahmeed have made an impactful start to their Pop Art project. They are currently exploring the work of James Rosenquist, developing their understanding of bold imagery and dynamic composition. Using this inspiration, they are beginning to create a digital response in Procreate, which we look forward to seeing after the Easter holidays.
