Stem Racing - National Finals
St. Olave's took 3 teams to Sheffield and the Magna Science Space Centre to compete in the Stem Racing National Finals before the Easter break, having qualified from the Regional events by being placed either 1st or 2nd.
The teams had worked hard to get to the finals. For Bolt and Blizzard this was the first time competing at the national finals, for Warp (previous National Champions in Dev class) it was a chance to step up to the toughest level of competition against the best teams in the country.
The teams created amazing pit displays, detailed Engineering & Enterprise portfolios, engineered and manufactured cars and gave engaging presentations. These were all judged by industry experts over the course of 2 days who then decided on awards.
All 3 teams learnt from the experience of the event which will enable them all to come back stronger next season.
In summary:
Warp (Pro Class), comprising: Neal Y, Abhinav M, Aneeq W, Michael Q, Thomas H were nominated for 3 awards (Portfolio (best marks in the country), Sponsorship & Marketing, Research & Development).
Bolt (Dev Class), comprising: Ahaan V, Ayaan S, Tharun S, Vishak A M, Ayush P were placed 3rd overall, with Best Engineered Car & R&D Award.
Blizzard (Dev Class) comprising : Anish G, Shrivatsa K, Aarav G, Raiyan H, Hadi S gained invaluable experience.
