The Bronze DofE expedition around Sevenoaks was a thoroughly successful trip, with all students completing the expedition requirements and passing. Throughout the journey, the group were a pleasure to spend time with: they listened carefully to instructions, demonstrated a positive attitude, and showed enthusiasm for the challenges presented.

The team developed their navigational skills quickly, applying map and compass techniques with growing confidence as the expedition progressed. They worked as a very cohesive group, supporting one another well and making shared decisions effectively. Their teamwork was evident both on the route and in camp.

There were several particularly memorable moments, including an enthusiastic game of frisbee, Raphael losing an argument with a thorn bush, Nirosh producing an impressive vegetable stew, and Jayden discovering what appeared to be a staff for walking, which has now become a garden feature! The students also coped well with changeable weather, especially on the second night when rain showers required them to retreat into their tents at times.

Overall, this was a well-earned and positive expedition experience. The group should be commended for their resilience, teamwork, and good humour, all of which contributed to a successful Bronze DofE expedition.

Thanks go to Mr Savage, Mr Carroll, Mr Jewson, Mr Twose and Dr Sidhu for their time supporting the trip.Bronze D of E
