Year 7 +Year 8 Oxford German Olympiad Success
The German Department is delighted to celebrate the achievements of pupils in years 7 and 8 who took part in the German Oxford Olympiad in March. It is a highly prestigious competition and a number of our pupils wowed the panel with their entries achieving runner-up, commended, highly commended or first prize.
We would like to congratulate in particular from 7L:
Anishk Chandel, Aahnik Manekar, Aryan Khanna, Ayaan Sachdeva and Kavish Torati
From 8H:
Arnav Anisetty, Rowan Arun Kumar, Vivek Bandla, Nikhil Gajavilli, Tanush Ghotankar, Avy Gowda, Arlo Greendale, Azlan Kahn, Nathaniel Tse, Erik Waldecker and Avin Wanasinghe
Our pupils responded to the competition's varied brief showing their wonderful creativity and enthusiasm. Tremendous comic strips about a journey undertaken by two or three animals were drawn and written in German. Some of our entrants wrote an essay about the transport that they imagine will be available in 2050 in German. A few of our pupils made a video about this theme. Finally, some of our pupils decided to opt for writing about a dream journey or journey to the moon in German.
Huge congratulations to our brilliant pupils. Their fantastic efforts and creativity have shone through and we are all so proud of them. Fantastische Arbeit!
