Congratulations to our Students of Design and Technology who have produced and published Issue three of their 'dtail' Design and Technology Journal.

If you are interested in creativity, innovation, engineering, and the future of design, then this 2026 edition is a must-read.

This year’s publication features an exclusive article from former student Joseph Barradell, now a Design  Manager at ‘Dyson’, where he shares insights into his career journey, the culture at Dyson, and the  skills he believes are most valuable for future engineers and designers. Alongside this, the journal includes a range of student-led features exploring:

• Design for Performance
• Design for People
• Design for Systems

The journal also celebrates the department’s exciting extracurricular achievements, including:

• Arkwright Engineering Scholarship
• VEX IQ Robotics
• STEM Racing

Written and edited entirely by students, ‘dtail.’ 2026 showcases the innovation, creativity, and talent  within our Design and Technology department across all Key Stages. Students have worked incredibly  hard to produce this high-quality publication, and they would greatly appreciate your support.

Don’t  miss the opportunity to own a beautifully printed, 100% recycled copy for just £10. The journal is available to all students and can be purchased via ParentPay at a unit price of £10. Once  printed, copies will be distributed directly to students. As copies are limited, we strongly recommend  purchasing early to avoid disappointment.
