One Medal and Spelling Success at Cambridge University

Three of our talented Year 7 linguists Caleb, Ojas, and Akshadh travelled to the National Language Spelling Bee Finals at Cambridge University this Tuesday, facing some of the toughest competition yet. Before the contest had even begun, the team received an unexpected boost when an Old Olavian, Patrick Williams, spotted Dr Pickett on the walk from the station and stopped to wish everyone good luck!

The encouragement clearly helped. After a closely fought competition, Caleb secured a fantastic silver medal for German, amongst 94 finalists. Congratulations to all three competitors, who represented the school brilliantly with determination, resilience and outstandingly fast language skills.
