Last week we hosted a breakfast in the beautiful surroundings of the Wellbeing Garden, to thank our wonderful Parents Association for all their time, efforts and commitment.

The Parents’ Association exists to support the school community, and enhance our student’s educational experience, as well as bring families together through volunteering, fundraising and social events and we are immensely grateful for all they do.

This year, PA funding has supported a number of key projects. These include improvements to the Tennis and Basketball Courts, the Cricket Nets, and the replacement of school lockers for Years 7 to 11. They  have also contributed to Gobo lighting in the Great Hall and LED lighting in the Sports Hall -  investments that will benefit both current and future students.

Alongside infrastructure and facilities, they have also delivered another excellent programme of community events. These included Summer Fest, the joint St. Olave’s and Newstead Wood Quiz Night, the New Year 7 Family Quiz, the Diwali Extravaganza, Christmas Dinner, and the ever-popular Year 7 & 8 Disco.

These events are not only enjoyable social occasions, but they are also an important part of building friendships, strengthening our parent community, and raising valuable funds for the school.

They have also continued their support of our home rugby fixtures by sponsoring St John’s Ambulance cover at weekend matches - an important contribution to student welfare which reflects their commitment to supporting the wider life of the school.

They have also introduced a new initiative this year—a Student Council PA Representative—creating a direct link between students and the PA, ensuring student voice informs their decisions. This is an evolving initiative, and we look forward to developing it further.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of many individuals and the members who lead the PA Committee.

New volunteers are always welcome and much appreciated so please do e-mail: pa_volunteers@saintolaves.net to see how you can get involved.
