U15 cricket Kent plate

Congratulations to the U15 Cricket Team who won the Kent Plate Tournament earlier this week.

On a hot day at Tenterden CC, St. Olave’s won the toss and decided to bat. A total of 182/5 in 20 overs  was made possible by all of the top 5 batsmen contributing with scores of 21 or more.

Top scorer Aarav Gupta (Leeke) with 41 was ably supported, and a dashing 24 from 12 balls by Raiyan Haider put us in a good position.

Sutton Valance responded well with an opening stand of 68, but St.Olave’s bowled with discipline and fielded superbly with a great run out by Arnav Joneja, quickly followed by a wicket from Aryan Singh. Sutton Valance needed 24 from the last over, and with two 6s in the first two balls looked on course for an upset.

However, Anish Ghosh held his nerve and bowled a tight line and St. Olave’s held on for the win by 5 wickets.
