Summer Showcase - 2026

Thank you to all of the parents and staff who came to support the Summer Showcase last Friday.

The Wellbeing Garden is a lovely venue to celebrate the talents of students in Year 7 to Year 10, and the students did not disappoint.  Each Year 7 form performed an extract from a musical, singing and dancing along to ‘I’m Just Ken’ (7B) ‘Bugsy Malone’ (7C and 7L) and ‘Supercalifragilistic’ (7H).

They also treated us to some very enjoyable comedy duologues. Year 8 have been devising their own plays, so we were thrilled by their cowboy comedy and an alien adventure story. Year 9 brought a bit of class by performing extracts from Shakespeare’s ‘The Merchant of Venice’, and a mixture of Year 9 and 10 students brought back the bathos with a newly created Blackadder sketch involving the Prince having his portrait painted, an excuse for some very silly behaviour and even sillier costumes! Well done to everyone involved.

St. Olave's believes that it is important for students to embrace opportunities like these beyond their lessons. As well as building memories to look back on later in life, taking part in these extra-curricular events builds confidence, and improves public speaking and presentational skills.  Our Olavians are supported to explore their creative abilities and encouraged to be open and courageous in
trying new things, often outside of their comfort zone.  It was a pleasure to see them do so well and enjoy the event!
