Rugby Fives Schools’ National Championships

26 Mar 2023

St.Olave’s have just enjoyed their most successful year ever at the Eton Fives National Schools’ Championships, winning both the u18’s and U16’s. We also reached the semi finals of the U14’s as well as having further pairs also in the semifinals of both the Open and U16’s.

Genesis and Caleb have been competing all weekend in the Rugby Fives Schools’ National Championships ( the four-walled version) at St.Paul’s School. Genesis won a terrific semi-Final today against the tournament third seed 2-11, 11-4, 11-5 and will be playing the final at 10am tomorrow morning. At 1.30pm, Caleb and Genesis will play the Open Doubles Semi-Final against Alleyn’s, hopefully with the final at 4pm, should they get there!

If Genesis wins either event, then he will become the first U18 player in history to win both the Eton and Rugby Fives Nationals in the same year. Olavian, James Toop came close in 2000, but lost the Rugby Fives final.
