AaronHuge thanks to Old Olavian and Olympic Gold Medallist, Aaron Grandidier Nkanang, who returned to school today to speak to students about his path from joining St. Olave's knowing nothing about Rugby to representing France and achieving a gold medal as part of the Rugby Sevens Team at the Paris Olympics in the Summer.

Aaron joined St. Olave's knowing nothing about the game of Rugby, but was spurred on by his PE teacher at the time Mike Perks, who quickly spotted his potential.

He attended Loughborough University to study Product Design, but his passion for Rugby endured and after completing his degree, he followed his dream becoming the first British athlete to win a gold medal at the 2024 Olympics representing host nation France.  Aaron played a crucial role for France’s rugby sevens team as they won their final against Fiji.
