Year 8 - Activities Week 2 events
Following their Empathy Action workshop at the beginning of the week, Year 8 have enjoyed a variety of activities this week.
They visited the Museum of London Docklands and the surrounding area of Canary Wharf, to investigate the historic connection between London’s docklands and the British Empire. Students also explored how the area has been redeveloped in the last 50 years to become a financial hub.
One Wednesday, they visited the Natural History Museum in London. This day of science enrichment allowed them to develop further knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Geology, complementing what has been covered in Key Stage 3.
Depending on the group they are in, today's trip to London is an opportunity to enrich their cultural knowledge of the capital with a visit to either he the National Gallery or the Courtauld Gallery in the morning, followed by a performance of either Les Misérables at the Sondheim theatre or Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre.
Tomorrow they will be back in school for a carousel of physical activities undertaking a carousel of various activities during the day. Each Form will undertake Dance, Doce Pares (martial art), and Fitness Testing, which showcases some of the latest technology and focuses on speed, agility, reactions and power in our Gym.
